Building the future together: a sustainable future

We aim to become the most innovative and sustainable construction technology group in Europe.

With our vision to innovate the construction industry, we have clearly set out our goal and the change is already underway: by 2040, we will be climate-neutral across the entire value chain. To achieve this goal, we will reassess the entire business and implement the necessary changes. But that is not enough for us; we want to do more. This is precisely where our Strategy 2030 comes into play.

This strategy sets out how we intend to realise our vision in the coming years. As an established construction technology group, we have a clear leadership ambition: we want to be profitable whilst at the same time creating added value for people and our environment. After all, successful and sustainable business practice means more than just looking to the future in a one-dimensional way. Together, we want to achieve more:

Of course, we will not achieve this goal overnight. It is a process that requires new technologies, some of which we first need to develop, or are currently in the process of developing. It requires a new and sustainable way of working that makes us less dependent on fossil fuels. We must all set out on this path together, starting now.

Personal development: your roadmap to a sustainable career

Learning is a lifelong process, both in your personal development and in your working environment. We encourage this process.

Depending on your skills, we offer you a range of development and training opportunities. This will enable you to learn new skills and discover abilities that are relevant both to the company and to your professional career.

Career model

Whether it’s an internship, a graduate programme or a professional career: at ZÜBLIN, there’s more than one career path. We offer you plenty of opportunities to lay the foundations for a successful (international) career and to progress as part of a strong team.

Our career model offers you opportunities for development across three different career paths:

Staff appraisal

ZÜBLIN is characterised by a dynamic corporate culture. In our work, we ask ourselves: “Where are we now, and where do we want to go?”. We also ask you this question. Your needs, skills and goals are, of course, important to us all year round. During your performance review, you’ll discuss these in detail with your manager. Together, you’ll discuss areas for development and set professional (training) goals.

Group Academy

The STRABAG Group has its own in-house academy. Our training programme covers both company-specific expertise and subject areas such as leadership development, personal development, technology, IT and law. The Group Academy offers employees not only training courses delivered by in-house and external experts, but also a wide range of e-learning modules. We also collaborate with partners such as LinkedIn Learning to provide access to thousands of e-learning courses. The aim is to support demand-driven, work-related and self-directed learning and to make it possible at any time. Our motto: “You decide when, where and how you want to learn”.

  • The STRABAG Group encourages development and offers opportunities for career progression. I have now been working at STRABAG for over 30 years and have been able to climb various rungs of the career ladder. I have been given opportunities or have taken the initiative myself, and I remain constantly motivated to continue developing. I currently hold the position of Regional Finance and Administration Director.

This includes professional colleagues who will introduce you to the field and familiarise you with the latest working methods. We also offer:

Opportunities for everyone

Social and corporate responsibility is important to us. We treat everyone equally and provide the best possible learning and working environment to help them build a professional future.

The added value for you: you are important to us.

We are convinced that every individual at ZÜBLIN contributes to progress.

That is why our staff are our top priority. To ensure this remains the case in the future, we provide a healthy working environment, safe construction sites, ample training opportunities and facilities that create scope for forward-looking work.

What can you expect from us?

Depending on the location and role, we offer a range of benefits:

Health. Safety. Well-being.

The colleagues who work for ZÜBLIN are invaluable to us. Prevention, safety and wellbeing are our top priorities.

Health at work

For us, the wellbeing of our colleagues is paramount. Ultimately, it is about people’s wellbeing, with both psychological and social factors playing a significant role in health and wellbeing. We encourage sport and social interaction. We take part in various sporting events, such as the international ZÜBLIN STRABAG football tournament or a regional running event.

Our initiatives and plans

Everywhere and for everyone. We also value and encourage individual initiatives!

  • Vitality

To raise awareness of health and wellbeing amongst our staff, we offer a number of tools. These include a Periodic Occupational Health Assessment (PAGO) or a Sustainable Employability Analysis (DIA). Topics such as stress and burnout prevention, nutrition, exercise, ergonomics and motivation are thus covered.

  • Sport

Want to get some exercise during your breaks to recharge your batteries, or take part in a sporting activity with colleagues after work? The choice is yours! Various sporting activities take place throughout the year: running or cycling events, football tournaments, etc.

  • Leadership

Our management team is focused on the theme of wellbeing and vitality, and is there for you. This means you can always approach one of them for a constructive and personal conversation. Whether the issue is work-related or personal, our people-centred management team is there for you, and this forms part of their leadership development programme.

  • Initiatives

Would you like to get active in your spare time? No problem: we’ve got our own sports kit, or you can put together your own dream bike through our leasing partner for company bikes!

  • Wellbeing and Safety

Well-being is important: through our first aid, emergency response and AED facilities and training courses, we give everyone the opportunity to learn about these topics and foster an awareness of well-being amongst our colleagues, both in the offices and on site.

  • Inspections

As part of the Construction & Infrastructure Collective Labour Agreement, we offer (medical) check-ups. These include periodic check-ups, stress prevention, employability assessments, etc.

Safety at ZÜBLIN

No job is so important that it’s worth putting your health or that of your colleagues at risk. To make ZÜBLIN safer every day, we choose 1 ▸ 2 ▸ 3 safe!

The three essential steps:

  • 1 ▸ Stop!

Take your time and assess the situation before you act. The seconds leading up to your next move are crucial!

  • 2 ▸ Think about it!

Take a close look at the following procedure, prepare for it thoroughly and ensure a safe working environment.

  • 3 ▸ Safe!

    Work responsibly and safely.

1 ▸ 2 ▸ 3 ▸ Safe!

We would therefore like to encourage everyone to take a moment to consciously choose the right way of working and to focus on health and safety. Whether on a building site or in the office: it is the seconds leading up to the next step that make all the difference …

Diverse teams: how we work together

We are united by the goal of working together to make progress for people and our planet.

In practical terms, this means that, as a construction technology company, we will be climate-neutral by 2040. We focus on both small steps and grand visions. Together, we want to successfully follow this path. To achieve this, we build on, for and with people. We rely on the wide-ranging experience and perspectives of our staff.

We are committed to greater equality, diversity and inclusion

Our EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) strategy is designed to enable everyone to contribute by drawing on their unique qualities and experiences. Diversity within our teams enables us to find innovative solutions and build a successful future.

We encourage diversity

We focus on diversity, not only in the areas in which we operate, but also amongst the people and teams within ZÜBLIN. This diversity enables us to find innovative solutions and seize opportunities quickly.

Greater gender diversity

The opportunity for individual career development, regardless of sex or gender identity, is a given for us, because it is only through diverse perspectives and opinions that we are strong enough to tackle our challenges. In this context, we also aim to further improve the balance between parenthood and career, for example through solutions such as job-sharing, working from home, part-time work and parental leave.

Promoting internationalisation

Colleagues from more than 139 countries work together successfully at ZÜBLIN and STRABAG. We encourage cultural and international exchange amongst (young) talent and focus on intercultural cooperation and integration.

Enabling generational diversity

We are working for longer and longer periods throughout our lives, and the same applies to the experience that can be passed on. We learn from one another: the young from the old, and the old from the young. In this way, we encourage the exchange of experience between staff members of different generations. Everyone involved benefits from this and is given the opportunity to learn new things. We also offer flexible working time arrangements to accommodate individual circumstances.
